Sports medicine has become an official medical specialty on the 1st of July 2014 and is worth highlighting. Therefore, on the 8th of May, RAMS is organizing a symposium with various speakers on Sports Medicine, including Dr. Cees-Rein van den Hoogenband. Cees-Rein was chair of the medical staff of NOC-NSF, completed 25 seasons working as chair of the medical staff of PSV and is father of a famous topswimmer. The other speakers will be Maria Hopman, a researcher in field of the famous Vierdaagse of Nijmegen, and Erik Duiven, whose specialty is doping in athletes.
