RAMS is proud to present you the editorial board of the academic year 2019-2020!
Hi everyone! My name is Mariam Baghdady and I am currently a second-year master student in Medical Biology, specialising in Human Biology. Always wanting to join a scientific journal, I immediately was enthusiastic about the idea to become a member of RAMS. I joined RAMS in May 2019 as the Editor-in-Chief. Being the Chair of the Editorial Board comes with a variety of tasks and a lot of responsibilities. During my time as Editor-in-Chief, I was able to gain a lot of experience in leadership and improve my scientific writing. The Editorial Board is in charge of the content of all RAMS editions. Together with Jelmer, Scientific Editor-in-Chief, and Larissa, Editorial Editor-in-Chief, we oversee all articles that are released by RAMS. The editors are, of course, also heavily involved in the content of the journal. About three months of brainstorming, writing, and designing go by before a RAMS edition is released. We are eager to publish scientific articles that are engaging, easily accessible and of high quality. RAMS is always looking for motivated students! Feel free to send me a message.
My name is Jelmer Raaijmakers and I am currently working on an intriguing microbiological project, which is my final project to complete my master’s degree in biomedical sciences. After fulfilling a position as a scientific editor for RAMS, I currently fulfil the energetic position as scientific editor-in-chief. In this function, I will supervise the scientific articles that are submitted to RAMS and ensure scientifically correct publications in the RAMS journal. I aim to provide the authors with personal growth in terms of scientific writing and to become acquainted with the current publishing model. I am excited and hopeful to receive your scientific efforts!
My name is Larissa Govers and I am currently in my last year of the Master Biomedical Sciences at the Medical Faculty of Radboud University. I am fulfilling the position of Editorial Editor-In-Chief of RAMS for this academic year. My role is to supervise the editorial content of RAMS, from helping our editors to come up with an interesting topic to reviewing their articles. I provide them with feedback and try to stimulate them to be creative and get the best out of themselves. It is important to me to help students in their writing process, because this will be a very good skill to have in their future. This year, I hope to be able to enthuse more students for scientific writing and my goal is to prepare them for their scientific career. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have an interesting topic you want to write about or if you have any questions!
