RAMS is directed by the general board, consisting of five medical students. As board of the foundation they frequently meet to make sure all activities of RAMS run smoothly. Moreover, they are in close contact with the supervisory board and the editorial staff. If you have any questions on general, promotional or financial subjects, you can contact the general board of RAMS via the Email addresses under the names.
RAMS is proud to present you the board of the academic year 2017-2018!
Dear reader, my name is Carmen Lageweg and I am a fifth-year medical student at the Radboud University Nijmegen. After a marvellous year as board member Public Relations of RAMS, I am proud to say that I am the current chair of RAMS. Besides supporting our general and editorial board, I am responsible for the internal and external representation of RAMS. My personal goal as chair of RAMS for this academic year is to make more (bio)medical students aware of RAMS, inspire them to publish their article in RAMS and enthuse them to participate in our activities. I am convinced that RAMS can become even bigger and more successful in the upcoming years. My wish is that when I come back to the Faculty of Medical Sciences in a few decades, RAMS will still be the scientific medical journal of our faculty for and made by students.
Welcome everyone! First of all, my name is Bart de Vries and I am a fourth-year medical student. I feel very honoured to fulfill the position of vice-chairman in the board of RAMS this academic year. In this position, I will mainly focus on the administration of meetings and support the chairman where needed. Furthermore, I will take responsibility regarding the organisation of accessible masterclasses, networking drinks and the annual RAMS Pubquiz. My personal goal for this academic year is to upgrade the aforementioned masterclasses, resulting in a high standard educational scientific series, and to make students more familiar with RAMS by organising catchy networking drinks. Last but not least, I really hope to see you soon at the promising RAMS-activities!
Treasurer – Merve Parmaksiz
Hello there! My name is Merve Parmaksiz. I am a fourth-year medical student and the treasurer of RAMS. As treasurer, I am responsible for the finances of RAMS. My main tasks are overseeing the cash flows of RAMS and making budgets for RAMS. Besides the financial responsibilities, I am also part of the Summer School committee. Last year, we organized our first international Summer School with neurosurgery as its focus. My goals for the upcoming year as treasurer are to live up to the high expectations of people by organising a Summer School even better than last year and to enable growth for RAMS by optimising the way money is spent. Enjoy reading RAMS and hopefully I will see you at the Summer School!
Hello everyone! I am Mylène Gorissen, currently enrolled in my fourth year of medical school and RAMS’ Public Relations board member. My responsibility is promoting RAMS by, among other things, sending newsletters, maintaining our website and updating our Facebook and LinkedIn pages. Besides that, I work closely with the Symposium committee in order to organise two marvellous symposia. My personal goal is to further professionalise our promotion activities in such a way that the spotlight on our journal and events keeps getting brighter. It would be a great pleasure to welcome you at one of our symposia or one of our other activities!
Hi there! My name is Manal Aourag and I am a second-year medical student and the board member of education of RAMS for the academic year 2017-2018. This year, I will be focussing on integrating RAMS with the different curricula of the medical faculty. By contacting students as well as lecturers, I want to provide students with the opportunity to get their first real scientific publication. Moreover, I engage in many activities organised by RAMS, and I would love to see you there! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
